During your visit to the Bergen-Belsen Memorial, you can visit our permanent exhibition and the historic camp grounds as well as temporary special exhibitions. There are also several historical sites in the vicinity of the memorial that are well worth a visit. One of these places is the M.B. 89 learning centre on the grounds of the Lower Saxony barracks, which holds an exhibition on the Wehrmacht at Bergen-Belsen and is open to visitors on selected dates.

Exhibition about the history of Bergen-Belsen

Permanent exhibition

In our permanent exhibition in the Memorial Documentation Centre, you can learn about the history of the three Bergen-Belsen camps using a wide range of sources. The exhibition is thematically divided into the sections Prisoner of War Camp, Concentration Camp and Displaced Persons Camp (DP camp).

Exhibition and learning centre

Learning place M.B. 89

The learning place M.B. 89 is located on the site of today's Lower Saxony barracks in the immediate vicinity of the Bergen-Belsen Memorial. We have an exhibition here, as well as rooms for educational programmes and offices for memorial staff.

There are various places near the Bergen-Belsen Memorial that are linked to the history of Bergen-Belsen, including the ramp where prisoners of war and concentration camp inmates arrived, the nearby Lower Saxony barracks and several Prisoners of War cemeteries.
