Contents of the online seminar
During the two 90-minute parts of the seminar, participants will discover important aspects of Bergen-Belsen as a Prisoners of War camp, concentration camp, Displaced Persons camp and place of remembrance using a variety of historical sources.
Participants discuss the effects of the Nazi image of humanity and a society organised along racist lines. With interactive seminar units, we encourage participants to independently analyse the history and present of the Bergen-Belsen site. Various testimonies provide insights into the experiences of prisoners and enable a discussion about the responsibility of those involved in the crimes. Questions and contributions to the discussion from the participants play an important role in the organisation of the seminar.
Technical requirements
The better the technical equipment and internet connection, the more interactive the online seminar can be and the more the interests and questions of the participants can be addressed. Zoom conference software is the preferred choice. If this is not possible in your organisation, please contact us.
It does not matter whether the participants are together in one room or at different locations (e.g. from home). Still, it is necessary for all participants to have their own end device (at least a tablet). This allows us to engage in dialogue with the participants both via the audio connection and via the chat function. This way, participants can access the digital tools we use more easily.
