Training for school and non-school multiplicators
Among the approximately 120,000 people imprisoned at Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, who came from almost every part of Europe, there were also around 3,500 children under the age of 15. Testimonies from these children and documents relating to them form the core of the educational materials developed by the Bergen-Belsen Memorial. The resource packs “Children at Bergen-Belsen Concentration Camp” (ISBN: 978-3-946-99105-2) and “Four Pebbles – The Story of the Blumenthal Family” (ISBN 978-3-9813604-8-6) can be used in schools and in extracurricular contexts, even without a visit to the memorial site.
During the training session, we will present the material to you in detail within its historical context. Together, we will discuss teaching issues and practical applications. We will also visit the historic camp site and the memorial’s permanent exhibition.
Please ensure you wear weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear. Please note that it is not possible to travel to M.B. 89 by public transport. You will therefore need your own car, including during the event.
The event is free of charge.
