Stephanie Billib has been working in the press and public relations department of the Lower Saxony Memorials Foundation since 2009. She is the contact person for all journalistic enquiries about the Bergen-Belsen Memorial and is responsible for the public image of the memorial. Since 2014, she has headed the memorial's "Digital Strategies" project and also represents the memorial in the research project Accessing Campscapes: Inclusive Strategies for Using European Conflicted Heritage (iC-ACCESS) as part of the EU's Humanities in the European Research Area (HERA) programme. In the context of digital strategies, she is developing database-driven applications for visitor orientation in cooperation with the SPECS research group of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, currently a tablet application and a room application. Her research focuses on Hungarian prisoners in Bergen-Belsen and the linking of digital media and communication.

Stephanie Billib, M.A., studied History and English and American Literature at the University of Hanover and wrote her thesis on Hungarian prisoners in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. From 2000, she worked for the Bergen-Belsen Memorial Centre in visitor support and has produced translations and conducted research and interviews in the field of research and documentation.
