Short biography
Janine Doerry, Dr phil., born 1972, studied Philosophy and History at the Leibniz University of Hanover. Doctorate on the status of French-Jewish prisoners of war and their families during the Second World War. Main research interests: National Socialism and politics of remembrance, in particular prisoner of war, persecution and extermination policies, memorial sites and survivors' associations. Scientific collaboration in projects of the Lower Saxony Memorials Foundation, currently on perpetration and participation in the Bergen-Belsen prisoner of war and concentration camp, from 2017 to 2020 curator of the permanent exhibition at the Gestapo cellar and Augustaschacht memorials in and near Osnabrück.
