Responsibilities
Caroline Altmann is an educational officer. Her responsibilities include the development and delivery of educational programmes, particularly those tailored to specific professional groups such as the police, the armed forces and the justice system.
Caroline Altmann studied to become a secondary school teacher in Spanish and Ethics at Martin Luther University Halle-Saale, as well as completing a Bachelor’s degree in History. She has worked as a freelancer at the Forum for Contemporary History in Leipzig and, in cooperation with the Federal Foundation for the Reappraisal of the SED Dictatorship, has designed and developed educational programmes on the GDR. For two years, Caroline Altmann coordinated the European research project “Wer ist Walter? – Resistance against National Socialism”, funded by the EVZ, which conducted comparative research into resistance against National Socialism and the commemoration of this resistance in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany, France and Croatia. She is also a volunteer with the initiative on the Halle satellite concentration camp, which she co-founded.
